The creator of this site, Sayantani, is an arty-farty girl with myriad hobbies. Crocheting, quilling, embroidery, a little bit of sketching and watercolor, and various crafts are only some of these. (And yarns. She buys yarn rather impulsively.)

She first learned to crochet from her mother at the tender age of 10 (her own age, not her mother’s) and hasn’t stopped ever since. She used to be an IT coolie for fifteen long years but left her job to dedicate all her free time completely and utterly to crocheting. She started her own small business, the “Chai and Chains”, in 2015 and has been trying to build up a customer base through her unique offering of completely customizable handmade crochet products. The name Chai and Chains is an ode to her undying addiction to tea (chai) and crocheting.

She has a daughter (who has absolutely zero affinity for handicrafts in any form) and two velcro dogs. These two think they’re her quality supervisors.
